We Take The Cake Return Policy

All items are final sale.  If an item arrives damaged or delayed in transit, our Customer Support Team will gather information to determine an appropriate solution, whether it be reshipping a cake or issuing a store credit.  Due to the nature of shipping perishable products, there are no refunds.  Please contact our team at within 5 days of delivery. 

Shipping Disclaimer

While there are many things we do to mitigate the risk of shipping our frozen cakes, unfortunately some things outside of our control such as weather delays and local carrier mis-scans. These may affect the requested delivery date.   Once the package is in the hands of UPS or FEDEX, we no longer have control of the delivery, therefore, delivery date is not guaranteed.  We suggest you request delivery a few days prior to the event in case of such delays.  

Please note that some addresses do not offer Saturday deliveries. 

We Take The Cake is not responsible for incorrect recipient addresses so please check that all shipping information is correct before submitting the order. PO addresses are not accepted.

Time of delivery is not available as this is subject to the local carrier. 

We do not require a signature for the release of any shipment and we request the package be left at the address should the recipient not be home or not answer.

Packages can be delivered anytime between 8am – 8 pm.


Customers are responsible for notifying their recipients that a perishable item is on the way and for confirming that they are available to receive the package.  By entering your email or the recipient’s email, our system will automatically send out the tracking number. 

We Take The Cake is not responsible for products/ packages reported damaged or melted due to a delay in opening and properly storing the contents upon delivery by the recipient. 

My Order arrived thawed

The team at We Take The Cake takes enormous pride in making sure that your cake is baked, decorated, wrapped, packaged properly and shipped at the appropriate speed, so it arrives at your doorstep in the perfect condition it left our bakery.     

Our cakes and cupcakes are shipped with dry ice, and it is common for the dry ice to have evaporated by the time it is delivered.  It is acceptable for the product to arrive at ambient temperature, ready to be served.   The cake is safe to consume as long as it has retained its shape.   If serving on another day, the cake can be stored in the freezer for 3 months or refrigerator up to 7 days to preserve freshness.  A Care Card is included in each box, outlining storage, and serving instructions.

Our bundt cakes are delivered without dry ice and are delivered at ambient temperature.  They are shelf-stable up to 3 weeks. Please refer to the Care Card included in the box for storage and serving instructions.

If you have additional questions abut the condition of your order, or you believe that your order is not safe to consume, please contact our Customer Support team at withing 5 days of delivery.

My order arrived damaged or was incorrect

We’re sorry to hear this!  Please contact our Customer Support team at within 5 days of delivery.  Please provide your order number, as well as details and photos of the damage.  Photos should include

  • A photo of the area of concern
  • 2-full images of the product (from the side and overhead)
  • An image of the packaging/box

We understand that sometimes items get damaged, and we will work to resolve the situation quickly.  If it is determined that the damage was the result of our error, we will reship your order at the next available ship date or offer you a store credit for a future purchase. 

If the wrong product was delivered, we will ship out the correct cake at the next available ship date. 


  • If you cancel your order before 4:00 p.m. the day before your shipping date, you will receive a full refund
  • If you must cancel the day of shipping, you can call Customer Support team at 954 764-2253 before 10am to receive a store credit.
  • After 10am, the cake has shipped and we are not able to provide a refund or credit.
